This vineyard was founded in 1992 and produces some of the finest award winning wines. This winery features a large indoor tasting room and a serene creek runs through the covered outdoor seating. I visited this vineyard with my family and we had a great time. We all participated in the wine tasting in the indoor tasting room. One of our favorites was the 2010 Riesling, which their site describes as having “aromas of peach, pear and cream with flavors of green apple and peaches.” Perfect for spring/summer in my opinion! Another favorite was the 2010 Cabernet Claret. Described as having “aromas of raspberry, mocha and coffee with flavors of raspberry, chocolate and nutmeg.” It was very unique and flavorful. We happened to be there in the late afternoon when they were harvesting the white grapes. They let us taste them and they were pretty tart! We also got to see the fermenting process in the lower level of the winery. There are five large tanks with a fermenting and storage capacity of more than 10,000 gallons of wine. The underground barrel room has space for more than 400 barrels. This winery has the capacity to produce more than 5,000 cases. It was a really awesome experience to get a “behind-the-scenes” look at the process. If you are ever in the area, make sure to stop by and visit this beautiful winery tucked into the woods of the Texas Hill Country!
